Details: 1 DAY COURSE: The Food Safety Act 1990 and The Food Safety (General Food Hygiene) Regulations 1995 require all food handlers to be trained to a standard commensurate with their work activities. This course, with its distinctive certificate, provides evidence that food hygiene training has been successfully undertaken, and supports business Due Diligence records.

Recognised by Environmental Health Officers as an appropriate qualification that gives employees an appreciation of the fundamentals of good food hygiene practice, this course should be re-taken every three years. Rigorous enforcement of food hygiene legislation is important, but is not, in itself, sufficient to prevent food poisoning. Food poisoning and food-borne illnesses have been at unacceptable levels since the 1980s. Most experts in food hygiene believe a reduction in the high level of food poisoning cases will only be achieved by the education of food handlers.

A 24 page course book is provided for all students. Certificates are provided for all students successfully completing the multiple choice test.
